Key Information Sets (KIS)

The KIS feature allows users to access and compare vital information about various educational institutions and their programs. Key Information Sets are standardised datasets about undergraduate courses designed for comparison across higher education institutions (HEIs).

Key information Sets (KIS) are sets of standardised information about undergraduate courses designed to be compared across higher education institutions (HEIs). KIS have been introduced in response to the reforms outlined in the Government White Paper 'Students at the Heart of the System'. The intention of the KIS is to ensure that prospective students have information to enable them to make informed choices about higher education. KIS went live in September 2012, and they are mandatory for all HEIs in England and Wales.
